| Hometown: | I am originally from Lennox, SD. I attended grade school and high school at the Lennox School District. |
| School: | I attended the University of South Dakota from 1992-1996. I received a degree in Communication Disorders. In the spring of 1998 I decided to go back to school to obtain my Teaching Certificate. I received my Teaching Certificate from Dakota Wesleyan University in December of 1999. |

On June 28, 1997 I married Michael Mattheis. We live on a farm southeast of Parkston. Mike's occupation is farming, and raising cattle. He also manages to get in quite a little bit of hunting. We have one daughter Jadee , who was born on June 10, 2000. My parents, Brad and Beverly, live on a farm by Lennox, SD. I have two brothers. Derek is currently attending North Dakota State University for Architecture. Jared will be a Junior at Lennox High School. My sister is currently attending South Dakota State University for nursing. |
| Hobbies/Interests: | I enjoy reading, gardening, walking, shopping, teaching, and spending time with my family. My husband and I enjoy going on vacations and spending time with our daughter. |
